Philosophy

Sweet Maple Grove was inspired by the interconnections of all living beings.

We believe humanity is what connects us all. No matter our history or our differences, we are all humans who have been planted in a particular place to take root and blossom at our own paces. The older and younger generations inspire us to discover our inner sweetness and strengths by exploring the world and connecting to others.

We believe that all humans have the potential to grow at any point in their development if given the right environment and community in which they can be nourished and thrive.

We welcome and integrate a montage of philosophies to nourish the whole child and achieve a vision for youth grounded in the simplicity of childhood . We use the primary and elementary Montessori curricula and Exploring Nature with Children Curriculum as guides. The children are the ultimate guides to their personal journeys.

We welcome and foster an appreciation for and kindness towards ourselves, each other, our learning space, and the Earth. These are key components to Dr. Montessori’s vision for Peace Education. An interconnectedness of these is fostered through activities initiated by the child, inspired by the natural world, and guided by their peers or their elders.

We welcome and celebrate diversity in all the beautiful ways it is presented in our community.
